Nine years of making
bouquets by hand
HotDealsZone started as a market stall and a secondhand van. Now it's a Chapel Road studio with three florists and a subscription run — still small enough that the person who takes your order is the one who builds it.
From a Saturday stall
to a Chapel Road studio
Mia started selling hand-tied bunches at the Bankstown markets in 2017 — one trestle table, whatever the season offered, sold out by ten most weekends. The stall became a lease in 2019, Tom joined when the wedding book got too big for one pair of hands, and Priya arrived when the subscription run needed someone who loved logistics as much as lisianthus.
The philosophy never really changed: buy what's good this morning, make it for a specific person, and never send out a bouquet you wouldn't photograph yourself.
Four rules taped
to the workbench
Not a mission statement — the actual house rules, in use since the stall.
Morning-fresh only
Stems bought at dawn get conditioned overnight and sold same-day. Nothing sits waiting for a buyer.
Photo before dispatch
You see the finished bouquet before it leaves. Want a tweak? That photo exists for exactly that.
Honest on budget
Tell us the real number and we say what it buys — sometimes a smaller bunch of better stems.
Paper, not plastic
Kraft wrap and compostable hydration packs. Green waste goes to compost, ribbons get reused.
Milestones, roughly
as they happened
Nine years, four turning points — and one flood that nearly ended it in month eight.
2017 — the stall
Bankstown markets, Saturday mornings. First winter we nearly quit — then a regular ordered flowers for her mum's funeral, and the job felt like it mattered.
2019 — the lease
Shop 22 on Chapel Road. The fit-out was market timber and a borrowed fridge — still standing on both.
2021 — the flood year
Water through the shop twice in six months. Subscribers paid forward through the closure — we paid it back in free bunches, and most of them are still on the run.
2023 — the wedding book
Hit 100 weddings and stopped pretending we weren't an events florist too. Priya joined; Tom stopped sleeping in on Sundays less.
2026 — now
380 weekly subscribers, a wedding book that fills spring by August, and the same trestle rule: if we wouldn't send the photo, it doesn't leave.
What nine years added up to
Four names on the
answering machine
Call the studio and one of these people picks up. That's the entire org chart.
Started the stall in 2017. Still takes every wedding consult — claims it's the best hour of her week.
Does the Monday market run and all the tall, structurally dubious installs. Argues with growers so you don't have to.
Runs the subscription book and every wedding setup. Writes the care cards in handwriting people compliment.
Knows which Bankstown doorbells stick and which nurses' stations sign for flowers. The unsung half of 'same-day'.
Projects we're proud of
A few that still come up in conversation at the bench.

Native arch — 200-stem wedding install

Chapel Rd tower foyer — weekly install

Letter tribute for a local family

Café launch night — 14 tablescapes
